Siteworks came to Studio Barn Creative ready to level up their online presence with a website that would generate interest from their target audience.
Siteworks, Inc. is a veteran-owned, Charleston-based heavy civil construction company serving the Lowcountry of South Carolina since 1991. Their work focuses on the construction of private, commercial, and federal site developments.
At the time, their existing website was not only minimalistic, it was a DIY site that was missing a great deal of information, used a pastel color scheme, and was highlighting free-to-use stock photography. The site was generating very little website traffic (236 visitors in a year) and did not allow for online submission of employment applications, which was critical for them at the time. It also wasn’t properly optimized to be found in search engines.
Like any good website design, it started with a deep dive into the world of the client. This allowed us to confidently write and/or edit content that would ultimately be optimized by search engines for the key topics this company needed to rank for. We also knew this site would be on the front lines acting as a recruiting agent during a time of unprecedented shortages in skilled workers. Also planned were several project site visits to capture photography that accurately portrayed their work, their people, and their craftwork.
Studio Barn Creative built Siteworks, Inc. a completely custom website and substantially improved the overall look of the site and user experience. With custom graphics, fonts and colors more aligned with their brand and industry, easy to navigate content, and an online employment application, the new website and Siteworks, Inc. are now getting the positive attention they were looking for.
In the year following the launch of the new site, the website enjoyed more than 8K visitors, that’s a 3,282% increase from the year before. It also encouraged and accepted more than 140 employment applications.
This site is built on a platform that allows us as developers to use page builder integration or write and insert custom code. We did write code to wrap and highlight their featured work. The online job application makes it easy for anyone to submit their interest in working for Siteworks, Inc. On the Contact page and in the footer of the site, email address and phone number links are active to simplify getting in contact on a mobile device. There are, of course, links to their social platforms: Facebook, and Instagram, on which we created content for a few months to get them started off on the right foot.
Of course, an SSL certificate is active and auto-renewing, the content is optimized for search engines, and Google and Bing Analytic codes were installed.
