Specializing in remodeling, restoration, and custom home building, Icon Construction is an established name in the Lowcountry area. When our services were contracted, their word-of-mouth reputation was in solid shape, but their online media presence was a bit chaotic.
At the time of our onboarding, Icon leadership was interested in building upon its already firm reputation, branching out into an online presence that would drive corporate growth. They requested an initial evaluation of their current digital footprint, as well as assistance in crafting and pursuing long-term objectives.
Our initial survey of Icon Construction’s digital assets showed that their online presence was a bit chaotic. The company had no visibility; the website had disappeared, they didn’t own their original domain name, and they had little to no social media presence. The company did have a Houzz account, but it was inaccessible due to technical complications.
Our first step was to acquire a new domain. Then, we quickly created a “coming soon” page to establish a minimal online presence while we built their website (and where the Icon Construction team could point people for quick information like email, street address, or social links). Building this new website would require custom coding, original and varied content, SEO copywriting, and relevant service pages to direct potential clientele.
We created an Instagram account and started utilizing it with a specific goal in mind. We also improved upon their Facebook Page to further promote online visibility.
Another item we worked on was cultivating Icon Construction’s Google Profile, leveraging it to improve their localized exposure. To capitalize on their positive reputation, we emphasized their need for the collection of new Google reviews, seeking feedback from new, current, and previous clients to buffer Icon Construction’s SERP ranking.
With new, positive Google reviews incoming and a Google Profile to attach them to, Icon Construction’s reputation in the Lowcountry was gaining online traction, increasing the likelihood of their discovery by searches looking for nearby businesses.
We further capitalized on their local image by implementing a regimen of Google Local Services Ads. In these ads, we incorporated the goals of Icon Construction’s executive team, targeting specific audiences for promotional campaigns and particular services.
With a new, custom website built, we were ready to push traffic from various sources onto a digital platform that showcased Icon Construction’s services. To take advantage of the increased traffic, a contact form was made available on the website, encouraging interested visitors to seek further information.
Project update: Our collaboration with Icon Construction is ongoing and continues to see growth. The online contact form has generated requests for custom home builds and the company’s online profile’s visibility has steadily increased over the last year.
Branding: Icon had the bare bones of a brand. We helped flesh it out to create a vibrant visual and verbal identity, including a custom color palette, font style, and more.
Media Deliverables: A regularly updated library of digital assets was created, from high resolution photography to aerial video footage. This media was captured from on-site visits at each project site. This database continues to be maintained and also feeds into the social media presence.
Web Deliverables: We built a platform consisting of service pages, an evolving blog, a set of featured projects, a team biography, a professional team photoshoot, a gallery of high quality images, and a long and short-version contact form for potential clientele. SBC continues to maintain this website.
Social Media Management: Our team manages the consistent expansion of their social media presence on both Facebook and Instagram. Management of their social media presence is an ongoing project with their help in providing us with new project locations for photo / video capture.
SEO Content: The copywriting for their website incorporated standard SEO practices, ensuring the new website would be positioned to rank well on search engines.
Digital Marketing Strategy: Our overall strategy focused on increasing online visibility, increasing lead generation, and fueling client conversion. Capitalizing on Icon Construction’s existing word-of-mouth reputation, we drove traffic to their website from social media, paid ads, and improvements in organic search engine rankings.

We made subtle adjustments to the logo (which they wanted to retain) and visual identity allowing for improved usability. We also took an intentional approach to crafting content that repositioned messaging to resonate with their ideal client and also accurately reflect their approach to working with clients.
Improving and engaging in an online presence was our first task. Our media team visited under-construction home sites and completed projects to begin documenting their quality of work and types of projects in the form of photos, video, and drone footage.
Notable items on the website include: featured-project details with associated imagery and video, team photos, client-portal integration, the story of Icon Construction, and SEO.
