Granite Shop has been a staple in the Summerville, SC area since 2004 providing granite and marble countertops and other installations for customers in the Low Country. Their logo and their website were a bit outdated. The site wasn’t encouraging or driving traffic to their showroom. The previous website was not mobile responsive, making it difficult for users to view content from their phones. The Granite Shop wanted to not only make it easier for people to find their location (they’ve changed spots a few times over the years as they’ve grown) but also encourage visits to their showroom. They also wanted to send a clear message that they provide services for custom home builds and for home remodeling.
Meeting with Adam and Jennifer in their showroom, we began to understand their business goals, their target market, and what success would look like for them. We began the design process with a logo that would be the anchor for other designs moving forward.
We began building a website that would help customers to understand Granite Shop’s unique value to their customers. A specific and previously under highlighted feature is their in-house interior designer, Jennifer. We created a banner for Desktop and a header announcement for Mobile to ensure customers were made aware. The homepage highlights a welcome message and a call to action for visitors to select services for Custom Homes or Remodeling. The “our work” portfolio page further allows guests to sort professional images by the same two categories. Helping to encourage visits to their showroom, there is a “Plan Your Visit” link at the top and bottom of each page that takes users to a form where they can request and schedule their one-on-one visit.
To allow Granite Shop to share information with potential customers about sales or other helpful information, we enabled the ability to capture email addresses for future use.
Viewable from each page footer is an easy to understand map of their location with directions assistance. A larger map can be found on the contact page. The site also highlights an About page, Process page, FAQ page, and links to their social media accounts. Rounding out the site is a listing of their showroom hours in the footer. Finally, we installed an SSL certificate to ensure compliance with Google’s security requirements as of October 2017.
